Caregiver? Does that mean you're the one who has to keep reminding your grandma that no, she didn't just hear someone knock on the door and yes, we already had lunch? Also, I see they're using stoner-proof identification numbers. Looks like the Wifi password that Comcast gives you when you use their router...

Haha, ancient history for me, been gone 4+ years. AZ had patients and caregivers, both allowed to grow, carry, and donate. No sales of MJ were legal, just medical donations and payment for services. Weird implementation. Up to 2oz per patient, or up to 12 plants per patient for caregivers.

Caregivers matched up with patients to help them acquire medical mj, essentially. Was nice to have a card while I smoked while living there; no anxiety over possession. Plus, ended up helping some people with a profound need... ex marine jump instructor with 3 bad discs, Parkinsons patient, etc... that was cool.

Interesting...so you could hold that card and technically carry for personal reasons, but the card would keep you out of trouble. I have a grandmother in FL who is physically wasting away from not eating enough (no appetite from 10+ medications). She’d be a perfect candidate if we could just find a way to slip the THC into her daily vodka. 93 years old and sharp as a tack. If I make it that far, I’m gonna be taking SOMETHING probably 24/7. Why not?

The Marine jump instructor was able to get off oxy, so I’m all for it. Far less debilitating.

The wife was on that for about a week after surgery. It was terrifying to think that people get addicted to it long-term. Might as well be on heroin...

Oregon for the win, no cards or anything.

Often times opioids are a gateway to heroin. Scary!

What a coincidental story. My friend had an instructor at UTI (the technical school) who was an ex Marine jump instructor who had broken his back after a bad jump (not sure specifically what was broken) and was also madly addicted to oxy. He even asked my friend if he could get it for him. Must be a common thing.

Really cool factoid I just found out. A friend I introduced medical MJ to introduced former Sen Mike Gravel to it. He’s now a co-owner of a mmj company and political advocate.

Really common I think. The woman I knew had 13k jumps training marines. That’s a lot of repeated damage, and surely a few bad jumps/chutes.
